My five year old Mac mini was getting to the end of it’s usefulness after the tiny 80GB hard drive only had about 800mb left spare. This meant that it run pretty sluggishly and did not allow me to add any more pictures or music etc
Had toyed with upgrading the hard drive but I still would have been left with outdated hardware that would not run Apple’s latest OSX Lion
So end result was ………..
The latest Mac mini running a Intel i5 processor @ 2.5GHz with 4GB of RAM with a 500GB hard drive and AMD’s Radeon HD 6630M graphics card with dedicated 256mb RAM
This runs OSX 10.7 Lion very quickly and handles any task effortlessly
The next step was to upgrade the RAM to 8GB thankfully Apple have made the task easy by having a removable panel underneath to access the memory
The new slim line chassis does not come with an optical drive but I got the MacBook Air USB SuperDrive so can rip cd’s and install software the old fashioned way!
